The Manx Motorcycle Club is pleased to announce that the 2012 Manx Grand Prix Races will be filmed by Greenlight TV.
Greenlight will be filming throughout the year, following and interviewing current road racing stars, many of whom started their Mountain Course Racing in the Manx Grand Prix Newcomers Races. In addition they will be following the fortunes of the many new riders who are competing on the famous TT course for the first time.
The Clubs Chairman, Harvey Garton said, This is a very exciting project in which we aim to record and describe the event from a riders viewpoint. In partnership with Greenlight TV, we hope to bring a fresh perspective and insight into the nature and history of this unique Road Racing event.
.
About bl**dy time, as well. Can someone kindly explain to me why they stopped filming it in the first place ?

I dont think the Government paid anything towards paying for the filming of the MGP. Maybe Greenlight done some filming as a gesture to help the MGP at their own costs
I was quoting what was said to me by the nice people in Dukes shop behind the Grandstand
I asked this question of Greenlight at the end of 2009 but thought Id deleted the reply, however I have now found it , it reads:-
Thank you for your mail. The reason we dont film it, and I guess others dont also, is that the way the sports television world works these days you have to get income from a sponsor, or organiser, to fund the production. With S100 we received some contribution from the organisers and donated the remainder ourselves by form of sponsorship to help the club. We cant afford to do that for both events unfortunately.
Hope this answers your question.
Kind regards
etc etc
