Mossey closes in on lap record to wrap up in Cartagena

MCE British Superbike Championship rookie Luke Mossey proved his pace on the final day in Cartagena by slashing his personal best lap time, to move to within 0.1s of the lap record at Cartagena set by former Champion Tommy Hill in 2011.

The Quattro Plant Teccare Kawasaki rider had been building momentum throughout the test as he prepares to step up from the Supersport class, setting the fastest lap of 1m:33.0s, 0.3s faster than Danny Buchan's pace-setting time from yesterday.

Mossey admits the extra pace has been coming as he gains more confidence with the Superbike, leaving them in a positive position to now return to the UK ready for the official test at Donington Park on March 26.

Mossey said:

"It has all been good again this morning. We still didn't change anything from yesterday in terms of settings; we just put in a new race tyre to see what we could do, so it was a bit of a bonus to do the time because we didn't have to do that with the other tyre. We're all done for the day now and it has been a good test, so I feel ready for the next one at Donington now."
