Very hard to put into practice on a roads circuit I'd have thought.
I've never used one but I can imagine that they could be dangerous at, for example, Church Bends on the S100 course or on the run from Kate's to the Creg but not be an issue at all at the bottom of Hailwood Rise where the verge beyond the fence is quite deep.

Seen quite a few of these in action this year. They seem to shove them out the hedge and onto the kerbside. From my own experience video i have taken in the past from my go pro dont really turn out that good as the bikes are just too fast so its really pointless
They should consider not the wording "Ban on selfie sticks" but "Ban on horizontal use of camera monopods and phone sticks, this would also prevent DSLR cameras attached to monopods being used in the same way as why selfie sticks are to be banned.
