Local Company, Island Aggregates and Southern 100 Racing have had a long term association since the mid 1980’s and this has been further strengthened as the company has agreed an initial four- year sponsorship deal with the organisers of the Southern 100 International Road Races.
Island Aggregates have agreed to sponsor the second ‘Senior Race’ on the Thursday morning of Championship Day.
Club President Derek Nicholson said:
‘The Second Senior Race was introduced last year and proved very popular with the racing fans, with the Race Committee suggested it should remain in the programme for the future.
‘Island Aggregates intimated that they also wished to become more closely involved with the racing at ‘the friendly races’ so everything came together and on behalf of the Southern 100 Committee I am very pleased to welcome such a high profile Island company as a sponsor of our races at Billown.
Stephen Smyth, Island Aggregates’ General Manager said:
There has been a long association between our company and the Southern 100 club over many years. We’re therefore delighted to agree a 4-year sponsorship of the second Senior Race.
‘We’re looking forward very much to next Thursday and a great week’s racing in general’
