looking at the manx gp practice schedule it looks like the newcomers have drawn the short straw, it looks to me like they would only get 7 laps in total and they need 6 to qualify, if this is correct should they be put under such pressure ?.
They should get 8 or 9 laps. There are a couple of sessions where they might get 2 laps (40 minute sessions ) if they get out in the lead bunch. Also there is a 2 lap session on Saturday. They will only get one lap on the Monday and Tuesday, maybe it is to help them settle down for a night or two. I remember when I was doing it in 2012 as a newcomer in the then Classic Superbike race, I was sponsored for a ride on a Supertwin in Newcomers Race purely to get more laps in. I think I did 12 or 13 laps that practice week. IT is a bit of a dilema though, getting enough laps in but not being pressured into going too fast too soon.
