Danny Buchan and his team have just arrived back from their first trip of 2017 where they spent 4 days testing at Cartagena with ART moto on the Morello Services Kawasaki. Danny was on board the brand new Kawasaki ZX-10RR. The rules have changed for 2017 with National Superstock teams now being allowed to run Kit ECUs on the bikes, making them a very similar spec to those riding under European Superstock rules. Using a Kit ECU allows the team to adjust traction control settings whilst riding, and provides the ability to alter the anti-wheelie and engine braking strategies which contribute to a much improved tyre life.

Danny set a new personal best lap of a 1.34.7 at the Cartagena race circuit, 0.7 seconds quicker than his 2014 personal best of 1.35.4. They spent time setting up race simulations to test the pace once the tyre went off with excellent results, Danny's lap times were very fast and very consistent, two important factors as this season's races cannot be won without both those factors! Danny's hard spent time in the gym over the winter has also paid off as he is in peak physical condition and didn't feel like he ever tired out during his time testing in Cartagena.
