Lancashire police have launched a new initiative called 'Are you on the right track?' featuring the damaged machine.

Ian Entwistle died in July 2015 near Preston when he took a racing line through left-hand bend and crashed into a car waiting to turn right.

The 34-year-old's blue and white Suzuki GSX-R 600 will be brought over to the Island by Lancashire officers, who'll use it to talk to bikers about safety.

Mr Entwistle's family have given permission for the bike to be used to help educate riders about the dangers of taking tight lines through bends.

Lancashire police sergeant Finn Quainton, who attended the collision, says familiarity with routes can lead to complacency - but potential hazards are around every corner.

He's hoping the motorbike will remind bikers to safely position themselves in the road to maximise their view.

The campaign will also be promoted on the bikesafe.co.uk website.
