Giacomo Agostini – a name synonymous not only with the TT and the Isle of Man but whose name is inextricably linked to a golden era of World Championship racing – is returning to the Isle of Man for this year’s Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts.

Ago’s career record includes an absolute outright record of 122 Grand Prix wins and fifteen World Championship titles and he is widely recognised as greatest Grand Prix rider of all time.

In a seven-year TT career, he memorably won 10 races out of just sixteen TT races that he started, finishing on the podium in three others – including third in the 1965 Junior TT as a newcomer – and retired in the other three. Perhaps his most famous race was one of those retirements, when a broken chain cost him victory in the thrilling 1967 Senior TT battle with Mike Hailwood. He returned the following year to win the Senior TT – the first of five consecutive Senior TT Race wins between 1968 and 1972, completing a Senior/Junior TT Race double on four of those occasions.

His Grand Prix record of fifteen titles includes six consecutive 350cc World Championship wins between 1968 and 1973 and seven consecutive 500cc wins between 1966 and 1972.

As well as appearing in the Classic Racer Lap of Honour riding the 350 MV Agusta he raced in the 1976 World Championship, he will also be attending the RST Classic TT Heroes Dinner on Sunday 25th August and riding the circuit in the Vintage Motorcycle Club’s Festival of Jurby earlier in the day.

There will also be opportunities for fans to meet the Italian legend throughout the four day Classic TT festival, including chat shows on the Classic TT Main Stage in Nobles Park as part of an extensive four day Official Entertainment Programme which kicks off on Friday 23rd August with the Classic TT Paddock Carnival.

Tickets for the 2019 Classic TT are now on sale via the Official iomttraces.com website including Official Grandstand Tickets, VIP Hospitality Experiences, and Official Entertainment Events including the Counterfeit Stones Classic TT Party Performance.
