UPDATE:
Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson has confirmed that the race organisation intends to utilise the additional qualifying session on Thursday afternoon for the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT that is provisionally scheduled in the road closure order, subject to marshal availability.
This is as a result of the loss of qualifying sessions to date due to bad weather.
The schedule will now see roads close around the TT Course at 12.30 and reopen between 4.30pm and 6pm and then close again at 6pm for the evening qualifying session.
The full schedule for Thursday’s qualifying programme will be released on Wednesday evening.
40 Marshals Short for Thursday
Organisers of the MGP and Classic TT are again appealing for marshals to come forward.
A text from Race Control has revealed they are currently about 40 marshals short of being able to run Thursday’s revised afternoon schedule.
With no practicing last night due to rain on the course, clerk of the course Gary Thompson has elected to use the available Thursday afternoon contingency sessions.
Roads will close at 12.30pm on Thursday afternoon, reopening between 4.30pm and 6pm, then closing again at 6pm for the evening qualifying session.
Anyone available to marshall is asked to contact the TT Marshals Association or go the TTMA tipi at the Grandstand.
A decision on whether tonight’s racing will go on will be made by 3pm.
