How's the new port going and will it be used for this years TT

Supposed to be opening in March, but they will have to do berthing trials.

I really miss the good old days of riding up from Kent in the pouring rain on a Friday night, queuing for hours to get my tank pumped out and then queuing some more for the bike to be craned on to the ferry (whilst still soaking wet from the ride up, as waterproofs weren't back in the day!)







Just kidding, today's ferries/ports are way better than they used to be and I'll be using it for the MGP in August (my motorhome is too high as during the TT they put an extra mezzanine floor in the Mananan to get extra motorbikes on)

Are they using the new port yet or is it still the old one? Don't want to roll up to the wrong one like a right wally in a few weeks.

Still the old landing stage at present, no announcements on opening of the new terminal even though it looks all but complete. 

There was some talk that they had found the Manannan needed modifications to fit the new berth.

The new facility has yet to be handed over to Steam Packet and there will then need to be an equipment fit out and training to take place.

Cannot see the first passenger berthing happening for a bit yet.
