The Department of Tourism and Leisure can confirm that they are currently reviewing the race calendar for the 2008 TT races. The process involves extensive consultation with manufacturers, teams, riders, fans and race organisers. It has included looking at the existing series of races on the mountain course as well as researching the viability of an additional course holding two stroke races.

However, the project is still at an early stage and there are a number of issues to be resolved before the programme can be signed off. It is the intention of everyone associated with the TT to research a number of possible ideas for the TT2008 race calendar to create a varied series that appeals to fans.

It's very understandable that matters have to be sorted and sifted before final arrangements can be made and agreed, and that the previous mention of the discussions were a little premature!

It's fully appreciated what you and the others involved do for the festival, and I myself look forward to further devolpments moving forward
