Been reading the TT Course saga with a combination of astonishment and dismay, so thank goodness the Governor's Bridge matter may die down.
Anyway, I was wandering through an old "Motor Cycling" the other night, and I read a short article, with some info that I never knew.
So, ladies and gentlemen, who knows which famous TT rider, who has his name on a bend on what's left of our beloved course, joined a well known Football Club as its Chairman? I will be very impressed if someone offers the correct answer.
I shall add more clues until someone gets it.
In another posting when I get a free moment, I may add my three pennyworth to the TT running on the S100 course.

One could suggest Sir Alex Ferguson as "The Highlander" but he did not ride in the TT so I feel you may be referring to Ben Drinkwater ?? NO ???

I am still searching the grey area part of what's left of my brain so I will come up with a more spectacular and correct answer,

OK. So it's not just me then. I thought to myself, everyone will know the answer to this teaser, except me. Anyway, the club is Coventry City, and the year of his appointment was 1958, long after he raced.
Surely someone will run through the corners, and get there, maybe faster than they used to.

There's lots of little motorcycle connections with Coventry FC.
TheY started in 1883 and grew from a team that began in Singer bicycle factory also in the 50s thy were know as "the bantams"

But no sign of who the 1958 chairman was...................yet

Well now thats an interesting question and I have discovered that a one Steve Ogrizovic who was conventry city goalkeper up untill 2000 was alledged to have survived the Munich air crash. He was born in Sept 1957 so it is possible (with regard to his age)
However it is an urban myth

Your dead right Cargo you certainly know your stuff,it was Steve Ogrizovic. I believe his correct birth date was Nov 1998 as his mum was an air stewardess at the time and was pregnant with Steve and both survived.Not motorcycle related but a lovely tale.
