The session was red-flagged twice during this evening at Ramsey Bus Station to allow an ambulance to cross the course to attend to a civilian casualty, who had suffered a broken hip and transfer them to hospital..

Conditions for this evenings practice session were described as ideal by the Practice Controller, when he informed competitors of the weather prospects and conditions around the Snaefell Mountain Course.

As last night, Senior, Junior and Newcomers A were set off in the opening session, which commenced at 6.40pm, the delay having been caused by oil spillages around the course. Riders were warned that the ‘lack of adhesion flag would be displayed at Greeba and Douglas
Corner Kirk Michael.

First two away were both Junior MGP machines with Scott Wilson and Ryan McCay, both on 600 Suzuki’s. Both completed their first lap and going through for a second circuit. Wilson taking 19 minutes 43.29 seconds a speed of 114.788mph, with McCay fractionally quicker at 115.297mph, a time of 19m 38.07s.

Michael Weldon met his new sponsor, Des Collins for the first time on the start line, just as he was about to set off down Glencrutchery Road, just about having time to shake hands.

The first session received the chequered flag at 7.10pm; when the second session consisting of Lightweight, Ultra Lightweight and Classic machines were despatched.

Adam Barclay on his 750cc Suzuki was quickest, setting the fastest lap of the week to date with a time of 19m 12.43s, a speed of 117.862mph. Meanwhile in the Junior class, Ryan McCay continued to dominate, again with his quickest lap of the week, both for himself and the Manx Grand Prix, in 19m 10.94s, a lap of 118.015mph. His ‘team-mate’ in the P.R.F. Racing team, Scott Wilson was second quickest in 19m 25.30s a speed 116.561mph.

The Newcomers A class was once again headed by Ryan Kneen on his 600 Suzuki, with a lap of 20m 23.72s a speed of 110.996mph.

In the second session, local rider Dan Sayle was quickest on his 250cc Honda with a speed of 112.499mph, his lap time 20m 07.37s.

In the Ultra Lightweight class, it was John Leigh-Pemberton on his 650 Suzuki that headed the table with a time of 21m 21.35s a speed of 106.004mph.

Moving the the Classics, Ryan Farquhar again was quickest on the Paton with a time of 20m 52.73s equal to a speed of 108.425mph.

The Ulsterman also headed the Junior category on the Drixton Honda, with a speed of 100.649mph. His lap time 22m 29.52s, whilst in the Lightweight class, Peter Symes on his T20 Suzuki took just 24m 13.60s to record a speed of 93.442mph.

A total of 312 machines passed through Technical Inspection and no incidents were reported, an excellent end to the evenings practice session.
