AUCTION FOR STEVE NORBURY AND RICK LONG FUND

Nearly two months ago, in a crash at Hockenheim, Germany, Steve Norbury lost his life and passenger Rick Long received serious leg injuries. Rick has only just returned to this country. Steve was arguably the best sidecar racer never to win a TT, finishing 11 times on the podium – in addition he was British F2 Champion in 2006 and had finished in the top 12 of the World Series for the last four years. Rick, vastly experienced at British and World Championship level, has won 8 TTs, a record for a passenger. In order to raise funds to provide for aftercare, an auction of memorabilia will take place on http://www.ebay.co.uk
Over fifty items ranging from signed programmes, signed T-shirts, DVDs, calendars, signed photos, signed books, a TT replica from 3rd place to an autographed pair of leathers are in the auction. The leathers have been signed by Team Managers, Commentators and over 200 of the top competitors in British Motorcycle sport ranging from the top TT riders, McGuinness, Molyneux, Martin, Crowe, Farquhar, Lougher etc, the best of BSB, Byrne, Sykes, Haslam etc to the sidecar world champions Webster, Abbott and Reeves. Also, besides the boots that Bruce Anstey wore when he won at TT 2008, we have Dave Molyneux and Rick Long's 2007 World Superside leathers included in a medley of top racing memorabilia.
The first items will be listed on Tuesday 11th November and each auction will run for 10 days. They can be found as follows: having logged on to the ebay site, scroll down the categories list on the left hand side, clicking on 'sports memorabilia'. Then, under the 'Motor Sports Memorabilia' list, click on the search bar and type in 'steve and rick fund' – here you will be able to view all the items listed. Each of the items when 'clicked on' will show the seller's username which is 'racing_gear_racing_stuff' and will give a further desription of the item being auctioned.
The fund-raising is being overseen by the Formula Sidecar Racing Association (F.S.R.A.) and further details of the items being auctioned can be found on http://www.steveenglish.com which is the website used by everyone connected with the world of sidecar racing.
