NSU to return to TT ? Oh YEH ?
We have just received a very very late press release (11.35pm, I was on my way to bed !!!) which relates that NSU have made a late team entry for the TT Zero race.
They are sending three works machines, based on the Quickly, but with highly tuned U-VER Nextra Optima washing machine motors replacing the petrol engines.
A revolutionary new lightweight battery pack, researched, manufactured and supplied by the German Company Viertenmonaten Erste-10 A.G., will power the engines. see http://www.ligan.co.uk/nsu.htm
We are told to expect further information with notification of the riders signed, to be available in ten days time.
WOTCH THIS SPACE.
In 2015 I celebrate 68 years as a devoted TTFan
Bookingfor 2016 !!

RE: NSU to return to TT ? Oh YEH ?
There seems a bit of german history in it ...
The NSU (after Neckarsulm)-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSU_Motorenwerke_AG
"Baummsche or fliegender Liegestuhl" -
http://www.der-wankelmotor.de/Fahrzeuge/...-audi.html
- "deckchair" - built after drawings by Gustav Baumm who lost his life
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C..._accidents
1961 on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring
revolutionised the design of speedrecord vehicles in the 50`s .
It was one of the first vehicles presenting a Wankel-Kompressor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wankel
giving a 49cc engine / 3,4 HP a speed of up to 155 kph and equipped with a
98cc engine / 7,2 HP a speed of 178 kph under famous Wilhelm Herz
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Herz .
Ferdinand Porsche
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche
an austrian engine and car designer used NSU facilities to build the first three "Volkswagen" prototypes - a car, that customers could pay a monthly installment for , but never got delivery as they ran out of petrol on the way "East" , whereas customers indeed got delivery of the "Rennpappe" Trabant , after 18 to 20 years , which led to signing agreements on behalf of newlyborn . For some sadly the wall fell just too early ...
Here a sad copy of the much loved double deck bus !
But to say it strait , the "Liegestuhl" design does not comply with the Zero-TT regulations as such !
