Eddie Crooks R.I.P.
Sad to recall another old-timer who has passed 'under the chequered flag', Eddie Crooks passed away earlier this week.
Eddie's Island career started with the 1952 Manx; he then took part in the 1953 Clubman's, finishing second in the Senior Class. He rode the Manx until his winning ride in the 1959 Senior Manx, then rode the TT until the mid 60s.
An accomplished off-roader, Eddie rode the ISDT in the Army team and later he rode Suzukis. Founder of the Barrow in Furness Suzuki agency, Eddie helped many riders in the September races. In addition, he helped Suzuki take a 250cc world long distance record at Monza.

Another link....so very sad.

I remember staying in the Fairhaven hotel in Empire Terrace for a few TT years and we became friendly with Eddies Mum who had the hotel next door (Gary Hocking stayed with her) We met Eddie via her and I was pleased to be able to follow the development of Crooks Suzukis over the years.

Have just read this in the newspaper tonight. Sad news indeed.

My thoughts go to Martin and his sons Thomas, Elliot and Harry.
