Joey Dunlop Injured Riders
Fund ( IOM ) Update Sept 2001 |
Hello supporters,
Since our last up-date in July, we have had some changes with regard to our fund and its members.
As Angela, our Secretary / Organiser is self employed and has been extremely busy with additional business commitments, she has had to resign from her post. This was very sad as we did not want her to leave, however, we are hoping she will continue writing for this web publication and still be involved as our press and publicity officer. I will advise you on the situation after our next meeting.
We hope shortly to have a new secretary joining us to take most of the work load from Angela, to ensure we get back on track and back to "normal".
Anyway, we are pressing on to raise the money for our disabled travel lodge.
Despite a poor turnout, we raised £850.00 at our fun night at Molly's Kitchen, during what would have been Manx Grand Prix week.
Thank you to all of you who made this possible.
Also, our President, Jason Griffiths, raised nearly £1,000.00 at the Ulster Grand Prix.
Thanks Jason.
NEXT EVENT
This weekend, we will be at the CONISTER TRUST MOTOR SHOW so please try and come along and visit us.
Thanks to Ian Kirk who gave me a run out in his sidecar while he was over visiting, it was a great experience.
You may all remember Ian was left disabled when he crashed at Bedstead in the 1995 Manx Grand Prix while battling for the lead.
Just so you all know, the closing date for the "Ton up T.T. Quiz" will now definitely be the 20th September 2001, NO LATER. - I have an entry with no name on it, so if you think it was you, could you please contact me.
Don't forget, we still have shirts and caps for sale, just ring us (details below) if you wish to purchase any of these.
Now the nights are starting to draw in we will be having a few winter functions which we welcome everyone to attend.
More details in our next publication.

All the best to you all,
