Hello Everyone,
Carol has had to
step down, as she has so much else on her plate. I feel very privileged taking
over from her, but I know she will be keeping an eye on me, and I hope she'll
tell me if I get it wrong!
My plans are very much along the same lines
as Carol's. ttwebsite already has some amazing women featured, and I am very
excited at the prospect of interviewing some others who have been
suggested.
I hope to get the first story up within the week, and then
keep things updated, and add new pieces regularly.
Where the racer is
currently competing, I will try to keep up to date with results through the
season. If you race, or know someone you think we should be following, get in
touch.
In addition I will be looking at some of the women (like Carol
Grose!) who, although they don't race themselves, are just as important to the
sport...the mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and girlfriends who organise,
fundraise, work on the bikes and console! Without women doing much of the
timekeeping, putting in entries, and earning the money that pays for it, many
men could never race.
I am very excited, and looking forward to talking
to women I have admired for years, and then telling their stories. From you,
dear reader, I would appreciate comments, complimentary or constructively
critical, and leads or news.
