Over one hundred years of motorcycle race history and some of its greatest names and machines were reflected with four packed days of racing and festival entertainment as the Isle of Man paid tribute to its heritage with the 2019 edition of the Classic TT Races presented by Bennetts.
Four races featuring Superbike, Senior, Lightweight and Junior machines saw race wins and the limelight shared between established TT stars Bruce Anstey (Lightweight), celebrating more than just a return to Mountain Course Racing, and John McGuinness (Senior) – with 33 TT Race wins between them – and up and coming competitors, David Johnson (Superbike) and Jamie Coward (Junior) – who both enjoyed their first Mountain Course race wins.
Two of the greatest names in the TT’s long illustrious history – multiple World Championship winning legends Giacomo Agostini and Carl Fogarty – returned to the track where they made their name and turned back the clock by lapping the Mountain Course on marques inextricably associated with their success, while the story of Steve Hislop’s remarkable career was told through appearances by his friends, rivals and teammates and some of the iconic machines that featured in his life.
Off track fans enjoyed live music from the Counterfeit Stones, chat shows, pop up bike displays, stunt shows and memorable films while fans descended on the Jurby circuit for the VMCC’s annual nostalgia fest.
