Sykes determined to shine at Silverstone

Author: Rizla Suzuki Press Release

Recharged after a restful weekend away from racing, Sykes is ready for the onslaught and is looking forward to getting dialled into the 2.212-mile circuit which will suit his fast Rizla Suzuki.

Silverstone is a track which Sykes enjoys and that will benefit him as he pursues more Championship points.

Double Japanese Superbike Champion, Atsushi Watanabe is also up for it this weekend as he has already visited the famous Formula One circuit and liked it. He is determined to regain the form he found at Cadwell Park where he pulled off two solid top 10 finishes aboard his Rizla Suzuki. The Japanese rider feels the British public still haven’t seen the real Watanabe and what he is capable of so with just two rounds to go his mind is set on proving that point.

Free practice for the 11th round of the Championship will take place on Friday 26th September, qualifying follows on Saturday 27th September at 1400 – 1500. Race one takes to the track at 1315 with race two at 1625, British Eurosport will broadcast live from 1230 – 1800 on Sunday 28th September.

Jack Valentine, Rizla Suzuki Team Manager: “The season is almost at a close now and Rizla Suzuki is determined to go out with a bang. Since Tom’s double win at Oulton Park our fortunes have changed and we have shown what we are capable of as a team. Silverstone suits both Tom and his Rizla Suzuki, we have the speed for the fast sections and the agility for the slow tight turns. Another double win would go a long way to regaining and consolidating second place in the Championship chase.

"Atsu is looking forward to Silverstone and I believe it is a circuit which will suit him. He needs to make the step up to the next level which is battling for fifth to eight place. BSB has a huge depth of field with a lot of capable and aggressive riders. Atsu needs to play them at their own game in order to progress. I think he will pull something out of the bag this weekend for sure.”
