ELLISON AND MARTIN ALL SET FOR BRANDS FINALE

When the series last visited the Kent track back in May, albeit on the full GP circuit, both riders came away with a decent points haul and the pair will be looking for a repeat of those performances for Shaun Muir's team.

28 year old Ellison from Kendal in Cumbria currently lies in seventh place in the standings, 34 points down on the experienced Michael Rutter, and but for his one and only indiscretion on his comeback season, when he slid off in the first race at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago, James could have been realistically challenging for a top six placing after claiming three podiums throughout the season.

For 26 year old Martin, the meeting offers the chance to rid himself of the bad luck that has plagued his entire season and the rider from Kirmington in Lincolnshire will be looking to add to his one and only top ten placing so far, which he scored at the very first round at Thruxton.

James Ellison: "I'm really looking forward to Brands Hatch to try to get around the problems we had at Silverstone. It's a bit of a short circuit and not much you can do there with settings so I reckon we'll be competitive. I'll just keep trying for this elusive win, I have two chances left and I'd like to get that top step of the podium for all the team, to pay them back for all their hard work."

Guy Martin: "It doesn't seem five minutes ago that the season was just starting, full of high expectations, but it's just not happened for me this year. I'm looking forward to getting some better results at Brands Hatch as we really need a tonic to carry us into the winter months. But come Sunday evening, it will be a case of 'win or lose, we'll have some booze.'"

The first of the thirty lap encounters is scheduled for 2pm with the second race getting underway at 4.45pm and as ever, the action will be shown live on British Eurosport with a Channel 4 highlights show to be aired during the following week.
