They powered the LCR Suzuki through to provisional pole with a scorching lap of 1m 29.106s, well ahead of their nearest rival and current world champion Pekka Paivarinta who has new passenger Adolf Hanni in the chair this year.
They posted a time of 1.30.341s – over 1.2 seconds slower that the Mitchells of Mansfield supported brothers Ben and Tom Birchall.
Final qualifying takes place on Saturday from 8.30am – 9am followed by the first race to be run over 11 laps at 2pm.
The second race is scheduled for Sunday at is over 22 laps starting at 12.45pm.
