The purpose of the day is to recruit marshals to the Billown Course, home of the Blackford’s Pre TT Classic Road Races, the Manx Telecom Post TT Road Races and the Steam Packet International Southern ‘100’ Road Races, now in its 55th year, having been run since 1955, by giving them an incite into what marshalling is all about.
Being a Marshal provides a great deal of satisfaction by being ‘involved’ with fellow minded enthusiasts and knowing you are part of an organisation that brings a great deal of enjoyment to competitors, fans and hardened spectators alike as they witness the unique spectacle that is ‘racing between the hedges’.
As a marshal you are able to learn through training vital life saving skills, as well as making new friendships at the roadside.
Become part of ‘the friendly races’, whether you are a new or returning marshal and help keep real road racing alive on the Isle of Man as without marshals racing can not take place.
Call in on the 4th July between 10.00am and 4.00pm and have an informal chat with people from the Southern 100 Marshals Association and the Southern 100 Club and discover if marshalling is for you.
Refreshments will be available, equipment demonstrations, race machines on display and prize draws.
