Concern has been raised by a number of would-be competitors, who plan to be riding at the Fore MCRC’s Walderstown National Road Races on 9th & 10th July and then travel to the Isle of Man for the Southern 100 International Road Races which commence on Monday 11th July.
The organisers have now amended practice and race times to ensure that any competitors making the crossing on the 10.45am sailing from Dublin will have sufficient Practice/Qualifying periods to enable them to be able to race at the 2011 Southern ‘100’ Road Races.
The proposed Race Programme for the Steam Packet International Southern 100 Road Races will now be:
Tuesday 12th July
Senior Solo Founders 8 laps Sidecar Race 6 laps
Wednesday 13th July Senior Race 8 laps
250/650 Race 1 8 laps 600 Race 1 8 laps 125/400 Race 1 6 laps
Thursday 14th July
600 Race 2 8 laps 250/650 Race 2 8 laps 125/400 Race 2 6 laps Solo Championship 9 laps Sidecar Championship 8 laps
Practice and qualifying will take place as usual on Monday evening and Tuesday evening prior to Tuesday’s two-race programme outlined above.
Race Secretary, George Peach, is requesting all prospective competitors, who are planning to ride at Walderstown, then travel and compete at Billown, to e-mail him (georgepeach@manx.net) to enable the club to ensure they are able to take part in the 2011 Southern 100
