Wednesday morning 7th June

Racing continues today (Wednesday) in the 2006 Isle of Man TT meeting with the four-lap 150 miles Steam Packet Company Junior Supersport TT followed by the TT Sidecar Race ‘B’ which is sponsored by the Hilton Hotel and Casino. This is run over three laps, 113 miles.

One of the in-form riders of the meeting is Ian Hutchinson who began with a third place in the Superbikes on Saturday and followed this up with a second place in Monday’s Superstock TT. Can he improve even further and move up to the top step of the podium?

Ian has lapped at over 122 miles an hour in practice on his Kawasaki as have others such as Guy Martin (Yamaha) and Monday’s Superstock winner Bruce Anstey on his Suzuki. John McGuinness already has one victory to his credit this week and is bound to be in contention while others in the frame could include Ian Lougher, Adrian Archibald and Jason Griffiths.

Having won the first leg of the Sidecar TT on Monday to claim their second TT win – and record their first sub-20 minutes lap in the process - the Manx crew of Nick Crowe and Darren Hope will be all out to complete the double. They had a 47 seconds margin of victory over Steve Norbury and Scott Parnell who will again be one of their main challengers together with the third-placed crew from Monday John Holden and Andrew Winkle. Klaus Klaffenbock and Christian Parzer cannot be ruled out either as they were holding third position before being forced to retire.

Weather conditions have been near-perfect all week and with another good forecast for today two further high-speed races are assured. The Junior Supersport TT is scheduled to get underway at 10.45a.m followed by the Sidecar Race ‘B’ at 1.15p.m.
