The walk went ahead in the wind and rain. Long and short wet coats over trousers, welly and walking boots stout shoes hats gloves and hoods all got a good soaking on the walk.
There was 23 adults and 3 dogs who did the walk. With a few added extra's who stayed in doors to hand out towels dry socks and jogging trousers to any one who needed them because of leakages. Dog towels were left on the radiator for a warm welcome for our four legged friends. Tea Coffee and homemade cakes, to warm us all up. Big discussions about bikes went on in the workshop while others watched the DVD of the Isle of Man in the 50s, while we all dried out.
Gwen would have been proud of us all and pleased with the amount raised. A very big thank you to all club members and friends on and off Island who donated to the Gwen Crellin MBE Memorial Sponsored Walk. The grand total was £2,305 raised.
