Rev For a Reason

Bikers urged
to 'Rev for a Reason' to raise awareness of bikes on the
road.

British
Bikers are being called upon to audition for the first ever symphony orchestra
made up of motorbikes - The Bennetts Bike Orchestra. With Bikers accounting for
nearly a fifth of all road deaths and biking fatalities set to reach their
highest ever levels in 2007, Bennetts, the UK's number one motorcycle insurance
provider*, is launching the unique search for the Bike Orchestra to help raise
awareness of Bikers on the road.
The search will be led by renowned
conductor and composer Stephen Montague, winner of an International
Piano Award, along with World Superbike champion James Toseland, also a
classically trained pianist. Together they will search the nation to find the
finest revving talent the UK has to offer. Whether track bike, sports bike,
chopper or scooter, auditions for the Bike-orchestra are open to all
bikers.
Entries are made via www.bennetts.co.uk/revforareason, a
dedicated site where biking Bach's and motoring Mozart's can apply to be part
of the Bike Orchestra, as well as upload video and sound clips of their
motoring musical ability. The final Bennetts Bike Orchestra will appear at one
of the early rounds of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Performing
in front of thousands of fans, Montague and Toseland will lead them through a
bespoke piece of music, especially written for motorcycles.
James
Toseland, the 2004 World Superbikes champion and classically trained pianist,
said: "We're looking for a Chopin on a Chopper, Haydn on a Harley and Schubert
on a Suzuki. This campaign is about getting Britain's bikers heard and I am
urging Britain's bikers to come together and raise awareness by auditioning to
take part in the Bennetts Bike Orchestra. "
All Bikers welcome, register
