Although Maria does not ride on the roads much herself now, she has an important message for show goers to support the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety’s “RideSafe BackSafe” initiative. Maria said;-
“ I am really keen to be involved with the RideSafe Rendezvous as it gives me an opportunity to put something back into biking. I don’t ride the roads often as my own bike is strictly a race bike, but I am very aware of how important it is to ride safely. Motorcyclists should enjoy their biking, ride carefully and use defensive actions. I would also stress the importance of wearing the right protective clothing and not over committing to corners when on the road “.
Maria will appear at the dedicated Women In Biking Zone signing autographs and selling her merchandise, at a the feature-packed show that also includes motorcycle stunt performances by Dave Coates and his wife Sandra as well as the Extreme Trials Display Team. The MPC Ural Motorcycle Display Team will also entertain more than 2,000 visitors, whilst nearly 50 exhibitors and trade stands will offer everything from new bikes to accessories, clothing and insurance.
Organisations such as IAM, MAG and BMF will join the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety in offering information and rider training courses such as the free Rider Enrichment Scheme that is available to all experienced riders but focuses especially on newcomers to biking.
The one-day show is free to all on Sunday 15th April and open from 11.00am until 4.00pm.
