Maria was due to compete on her RVF at this year’s NW200 but was ruled out after a decision by the organisers. So this will be her first outing on her newly acquired 400cc bike and she will be in great company as the coveted Cock o the North attracts top road racers including Guy Martin, Ryan Farquhar and fellow Black Horse sponsored rider Ian Lougher.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Oliver’s Mount, especially after the disappointment of not competing at the NW200. I’ve wanted to race at Scarborough since being a spectator and watching David Jefferies win there, so this is going to be a special outing for me.”

Maria has tested the bike in Ireland at Kirkistown and will do more testing prior to the Auto 66 Club event on the 30th June – 1st July. Maria holds the Guinness World Record for being the fastest female around the infamous Isle of Man TT and is the first woman in Manx history to stand on the podium as a solo racer. She hopes to continue this success at the Cock o the North Road Races.

Maria would like to thank new sponsors CMS Car & Commercials for the loan of the motor home, to The Image Works for the new race vehicle livery and to Andy Peck for the bike paint work.
