WORLD CHAMPIONS BEGIN THE DEFENCE OF THEIR TITLE

Three times world and current British champion, the Kent driver and his passenger are currently in the Isle of Man making last minute preparations for their debut at this year’s TT races with the F2 LCR outfit but will travel to Donington Park in time for practice and qualifying on Saturday on the F1 LCR machine.

The champions have to fly back to the Island to take part in the obligatory orange jacket novice laps on Saturday evening but will be back at Donington in time for morning warm up and the 20-lap world championship race on Sunday.

“With the additional backing from Gunther Reuschling I have been able to put together two different teams of back up crews for this season, one for the world and British championship rounds and another for the TT campaign so that will make things a lot easier for us. We will miss the final qualifying at Donington on Saturday evening so will have to make sure we put in a fast lap in the earlier session to secure our grid position,” said Reeves.

“Although we have a tight schedule I am confident we can fulfil our commitments both at the TT and Donington Park. It is just unfortunate that we have a date clash but the Isle of Man TT race officials have moved heaven and earth to help us travel back and forth over the weekend and we are both looking forward to the challenge.”

Free practice at Donington Park is at 9am on Saturday followed by qualifying at 12.25pm and 6pm. There is a 10-minute warm up at 12.45pm on Sunday followed by the 20-lap gold race at 4.15pm.

The sidecar TT practice begins on Saturday evening at 8pm and continues throughout the following week. The three-lap Sure Mobile Sidecar TT race one is scheduled for a start at 3pm on Saturday, May 31 with race two on Wednesday, June 4 at 1.15pm.
