Bulletin 12 - Friday 9th June - am.


Welcome to the final days racing at the TT2000. The weather forecast issued by the Met.Office at Ronaldsway at 7am. Cloudy this morning and the first half of the afternoon with a chance of a few light showers. Cloud will remain clear of the hills at all times with no visibility problems. Winds light at all altitudes with temperatures up to 15 - 16C (60F) this afternoon.

The first race today with a scheduled time of start of 10:45am is the three lap Production TT. Last years winner, David Jefferies (CMC Yamaha R1) was fastest in practice in 18m 43.1s - 120.94mph, 9.7 seconds faster than Adrian Archibald (Harris Honda CBR900) who lapped at 118.86mph to lead Shaun Harris (Blacks Suzuki 750WY) - 118.65mph - by two seconds. Richard Quayle (Bullock Vimto Honda 925) was fourth at 118.02mph, Jim Moodie (Honda Britain Fireblade) fifth at 117.81mph and Michael Rutter (V&M Yamaha R1) was sixth at 117.68mph. The top 26 riders lapped at over 110mph, and the top 58 riders lapped at over 100mph. Riders completed 386 laps in practice - 14,563.78 miles.

The second race, due at 1:15pm, is the Alliance & Leicester International Senior TT which is still regarded by many as the Blue Riband of the Meeting. Again, the start order has been decided on practice times which means that David Jefferies will defend his Trophy from pole position followed by Jason Griffiths and Adrian Archibald.

The Presentations will take place at the rear of the Grandstand after the completion of the Senior Race.
