FIM awards 2023 Liverpool |

Went to the FIM Awards "autograph" session yesterday at Liverpool. Run like a precision watch! Anyone that's been to a theme park will be familiar with the winding queue system, but in this case, every 10 feet or so was a World champion sat at a small table with a pen & a drink of water! The organizers gave every one a large A4 pad with each page devoted to a champion & they were sat in this order as we went along the queue! So you didn't have to worry about not recognizing anyone!
The Sidecar champions seem to be really looking forward to their TT debut next year.
The only downside were the empty seats where the World Supersport, Moto GP & WSB champions should have been!
Unbelievable really, but also disappointing, specially for the family next to us that had travelled from Southampton to see just those champions!
At least we'd only gone 60 odd miles!

Isle of Man Steam Packet TT 2024 Invoice |

Just got an invoice email from the Steam Packet for my 2024 TT trip
£490 for me and my motorhome (it was £465 last year, so an increase of just over 5%)
Payable by 29th February 2024
For me it's 179 days to go (not that I'm counting, but I've got an RC 181 replica to restore/build so I can thrash it round the TT course - time is short!)

Track Day Advice |

I'm currently in the process of renewing my National Road Race licence for 2024 and as I haven't ridden competitively for ages plus I'll be riding my BSA B50 I thought of trying out both the machine and myself at one or two track days. The problem I have is that although my B50 is a reasonably competitive Group 2 machine I'm certain that, initially at least, both it and me would be blown away by modern machinery. I've never done a track day and I certainly don't want to be 'in the way' so the advice I seek is are there track days available that are suitable for classics? I live in the North West of England so the more local to me the better. All sensible advice will be gratefully accepted.

I need a new Carrillo con rod for my road race B50. I've researched the only UK supplier I could find and their price was incredible therefore, I'd be most grateful if anyone could answer any of the following 3 questions: Q1 Does anyone have an unused B50 rod for sale? Q2 Can any forum member advise of UK suppliers of Carrillo rods? Q3 Has anyone any experience (including the pitfalls) of buying from the USA? I've been racing my B50 since 1992, including 8 MGP campaigns, so I'm fully aware of all the B50 frailties, the standard rod being one of them.
