My TT started a day earlier than planned as I managed to get over on the Thursday before practice
Nice evening to sail too. I always try to go from Liverpool if I can - much nicer surroundings than Heysham.
The Three Graces
One of the best bits is seeing England disappear
I've never sailed with the tide so far out - these are the Antony Gormley sculptures at Crosby
First practice session for the classics at Ballakeighan.
Mike Hose - 350 Bultaco
Alan Oversby on the fabulous 500 MV
Simon Bartlett - Suzuki XR69
The crew that always ties Roy Moore's tongue in knots - Ralf Engelhardt & Winfried Wiecenz on the Busch BMW
2nd practice at Church Bends - cold, wet & 'orrible so not many out.
Bob Millinship (471 Ducati) leading Tom Jackson (500 Honda)
Jamie O'Brien - Yamaha TZ250
Ian Salter & Tim Dixon (Norton) leading Eddy Toombs & Bob Dowty (BMW)
The 250/350 singles race also took place and featured what I believe to be the outstanding moment of the fortnight. Ted Fenwick winning the 250 race at the age of 82. He was best 4 stroke in the 250 race two days later aswell!
Sun back out for the Classics race day
Oversby again!
More Italian exotica - Mick Moreton on the 500 Paton
Albert Price & Dicky Gale just before blowing up the clutch and setting the outfit on fire!
Kenny Davis leading John Burrows on his way to an excellent 3rd in the 350 race - both on Hondas
First TT practice at Ballaugh & different techniques on display.
Ian Lougher prefers nose-up
Ryan Farquhar goes nose-down
Keith Walters & Alun Thomas produce the biggest sidecar leap in 30 years!
