Hope this doesn't give more ammunition to the ACU when they are reviewing the prohibited/restricted areas imposed this year - I believe they are due to review the situation post-TT.

No, just an over-enthusiastic approach, apparently. He really should be more careful at his age, but...once a racer, always a racer! I had a conversation with Percy Tait recently, he says he daren't take part in these parades 'cos he knows he'd get carried away.
But I'm glad Sammy didn't suffer any consequences of his ride on the "Wall of Death !" What WAS he doing ???
In "No Limit", a rider does exactly what Sammy did, so is there a re-make of "No Limit" in the pipeline, and who in your opinion would take the parts of George and Florrie ??
I always though Ken Dodd would be involved but I think he is now "unsuitable"...
Amazing photos. You can bet your bottom Irish dollar that I will be taking the mickey out of Sammy when I next speak to him.
Sammy was my manager in the factory Honda trials team in the early seventies, and we shared many moments together, mainly bad, but some good. Ah but he wasn't married to his present wife in those days, he's a smashing bloke nowadays.
So relieved that he got away with the up and over. I crashed my TD2B there in the 1975 Manx. Still have the lump in my wrist!
Saw Sam today, nursing some sore ribs but otherwise okay. Although Mrs M says he's also got an impressively black and swollen pair of b******s! Not surprising, really.
I met him just behind the grandstand the same night, and he still looked a bit shaken, and had a slightly bruised face. I'm sure he was feeling rather secondhand, but he was very lucky (ask Barry Wood).
