Any recommendations for pubs that serve cask ale on the island? Preferably near Douglas.

Most of them do - and it's usually Okells. Most also have some guest beers

As advised, many do real ales, try the Camra site http://www.camra.org.uk/whatpub.

And a nice little trip on a spare day is to take the lunchtime steam train from Douglas to Castletown, and pop in to The Sidings which as its name suggests is next to the station, they always have half a dozen real ales on, and nice food too.

Then jump on the late afternoon train back to Douglas, ideal for a leisurely afternoon session.

I don't know if I'll see any racing now having heard of all these. 😄🍺👍

Pop to Peel too all the pubs in the town are freehouses with several doing guest ales as well as the local brews
