Mike this question has never been asked about what JM has been paid over the years, but reading various cuttings it seems that he is now not DEDs number one blue eyed boy, Dunlop is and you cant blame them he is the best road racer we have ever seen, I tried to tell you lot four years ago, if JM wants a good payday this year he will have to ride hard as there are a few capable of coming second to Dunlop.
And its not entirely true about GM not getting start money, he does but he does not get appearance money I belive for being told to sign signatures and you cant blame him, yes GM is the most popular favourite rider with the fans.
He gets no more start money than any privateer, and other than any other deal he has with TAS, it costs the DED nothing whether he is at the TT or not, but is arguably the rider who puts the most 'bums on seats' at the moment which is ironic as that is the DED's prime job.
