Following a discussion in the pub today, the query was raised as to a pre war German rider who was fatlaly injured at Ballaugh and there is a memorial plaque on a wall opposite the Raven pub ? Can anyone enlighten me as to whom it was ? Thanks.
Been there Ian,Thanks
This was my friends reaction to the information you all posted.
Hi Sid,
Many thanks for the info on Karl Gall. I think it`s the most info I`ve ever seen about him. I`d forgotten his name!
In my ancient "The Story of the TT" (published by "The TT Special" in 1947 ) he is`nt even mentioned in the 1939 chapter. He does get a casual mention in an earlier chapter as the 3rd fastest rider over 2 timed test sections of the Course in 1938. I`d no idea he was No1, I always thought that he would be Meier.
