Got to agree with you Ian, lump in the throat when Sir Bobby Robson took to the stage.

A true gentleman and ambassador for the sport of football 8)

Considering JT was 125-1 with the bookies to win, 4th place is a great effort, well done. I guess he'll have to win Moto GP to make it stick. Next year then ? alf

Great to see our Dario getting a mention too. Scotland's biggest motor sport star these days... and married to a film star.
Isn't it absolutely amazing the difference there is in James when he gets on the piano. He is normally so quiet and reserved.
Bet none of those boxers can do that.

'Bet none of those boxers can do that'

Think the gloves would hinder 'em Helen.

Not a bad result, 4th for JT and Calzagie is a worthy and unbeaten champion. Just glad it wasn't one of the 'won nothings' the Brits seen to love.

Seven golds for the cycling team but the beaten finalists at rugby take the 'team of the year'.

Minority sports people have always struggled for recognition unless sired by the royal family.

Lester Piggott.... 9 Derby's, god's knows how many championships, always regarded as the greatest ever jockey for about 40 years....Sports Personality Of The Year Awards............zero !
Cheers, Kim (geezer!)

The last time I remember the TT being featured in the Sports Review of the Year was in 1994 when they mentioned Hizzys F1 and Senior double, but spoiled it by showing him on the Norton from 92!

Thanks Stella for posting the links to last nights show I'd missed it. JT deserved better than 4th. Perhaps the Beeb will take note of the votes he polled and realise there is an audience out there for bike racing on TV. They should take a leaf out of BBC NI's book, they have exploited their opportunities with their coverage of this years NW 200. The live footage on the website was great, long may it continue. More bikes please BBC. alf

Your very welcome Big Grin

Here is the complete link now posted on the bbc

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/default.stm

Could not agree more re the bbc northern ireland coverage, watched in awe thinking "if only"

Hopefully James will continue his pre season testing success, given a season or two we may well be celebrating another future world champion, i honestly believe he has the mental capacity that is required, it is only a few seasons ago that he was being written off and look how he answered his critics.

Just depends how the machinery stands up to the challenge, oh and a lotta luck also ! 8)
